35mm Film and Slide Scanner
The Nikon scanner in the Cloisters can scan film and slides.
The Media Cloisters has a scanner that can be used to digitize 35mm film.
To scan your film:
1. Flip open the strip film holder and place in your negative, aligning the pictures with the frames in the black part of the holder. It cannot hold more than 6 frames, and only 35mm
2. Slide the black film mount until the picture you want aligns with either of the two frames in the aluminum part of the holder.
3. Insert into the scanner with with the picture you want to scan in first, it doesn’t matter if some of the black plastic film mount protrudes into the machine.
4. Finally use the Nikon Scan 4 software to scan and edit as you like.
Mounted slides can be scanned individually in the special tray.
